I paid off my credit card yesterday. I believe this credit card debt began about ten years ago when I bought a mattress for my first apartment. I’m sure my parents sent me money, but I’m sure I spent it on something else. This debt included last minute supplies needed for design finals, gas from when things were really tight, oh, and a class I took in Europe. It’s size fluctuated over the years, but now, for the first time in ten years, it is gone. I wouldn’t trade any of the experiences I just finished paying of for anything, just like I wouldn’t give up my education or my house to be debt free. I’m sure there were many stupid things charged, like Yoo-Hoo, yet another pair of underwear, or a t-shirt featuring Circus bears playing the cello, in addition to the needed things. I hope that in the future, I will not have to make the choice I had to make in the past of accumulating debt this way, but if I do, I know I will keep in mind how long it lingers.
Also, my gifted friends are heading to Utah today to take part in the Slamdance Film Festival. The Mallory’s Go Black Market was chosen as the opening night short, and I’m terribly excited for Jo and Scott and Liz and Tina T. Check out Candy Eye Factory, their studio, and the blog Jo and Scott (William, to you) are keeping while they are in Utah. Who are they, and how long will they last? They’re awesome, FOREVER!!!!
